Did you know … Grosse Pointe has a zoo?

Well, not a traditional zoo like the Detroit Zoo, but GP Zoology, an educational animal research center on Mack Ave., is the next best thing for locals.

We recently attended GP Zoology’s (https://gpzoology.com/) first workshop titled “Reptile Science.” The 1.5 hour workshop featured special guest and speaker AJ Fetterman, (biologist / reptile educator) who joined Donnie Cook (owner of GP Zoology and Lou’s Pet Shop and local treasure in our book) to discuss the topics of reptile behavior, genetics and conservation.

Our boys loved the workshop and, I’m not going to lie, one asked to come home with a snake and the other asked for a turtle, which unfortunately for them we did not do. I, however, may have had a little crush on the sloth I met there.
